About the Speaker

Helen Kim Nowalk

Helen is the Pastor of Community Life at New Life Fellowship in Elmhurst, Queens where she and her team serve the congregation’s discipleship and growth in community, spiritual formation and mission. She has over twenty years of experience of pastoring in diverse settings as well as working in community based organizations serving the Asian American community. She is a trained leadership coach, a spiritual director and has a passion for creating deeper, honest, loving conversations and community in the church. Helen has a B.F.A. in Jewelry Design and Restoration from the Fashion Institute of Technology, a M.Div in Intercultural Studies from Alliance Theological Seminary and a D.Min in Professional Coaching from Assemblies of God Theological Seminary. A New York City native, Helen loves going deep in a transient city, connecting in conversation over a good cup of coffee.
